Helmo

Helmo uses the overlaying technique to get this edit on his final images. He combines two photographs together and then edits them so that it only looks like one. In most cases Helmo focuses on portrait photography a few examples are below. The one i particularly like is the one where he has taken a photo of a women and then overlayed a photo of a tiger. I like this image because he has made his model look like that specific animal before even adding the actual animal to the photo. The girl has big, backcombed her which fits in with the shape of the tigers head. Her facial expression is very serious, this also fits in with the theme as tigers are very serious and strong animals. All of this photographers portrait edits are based around animals and their posture. The main colours he uses are blue and red with a plaibn black background. The model is always blue and the animal red. Helmos composition is excellent, hes uses positioning very cleverly so that the audience thinks that there is just one subject when infact there is two. You have to really concentrate and look more closely to see that there is two different images there. However the different colours used do make this more obvious. It is alot more clear on his landscape photographs. In these images Helmo uses two other main colours which are pink and green, but he doesnt it different this time. One colour isnt always used for the portrait image he just simply selects a certain part of the image to make it stand out. You can see this clearly in the images below. Although some people may say that Helmo's work is always the same consistancy is sometimes a good thing. He does just focus on the one theme but his final images are very interesting and it makes you wonder what animal or landscape he is going to use next.
