Photoshoot 3
Image Analysis
This photo is inspired by Laura Ferrier’s work. Since this particular artists makeup/body paint is very exaggerated I thought that I would just start by only using a little bit of diamonds and glitter on my models face. Eventually I plan to develop this shoot and completely re-do it so that my own work is also very exaggerated. The main colour that was used throughout this shoot is blue; therefore I named the shoot as 'ice' because the subject matter looks like an ice princess/queen. The glitter that is used across the models chest also looks like icicles running down. I think the use of the glitter and diamonds make the photo look more intriguing, however I definitely think that more needs to be added to her face because I would like that to be the main thing that attracts my audiences attention. I enjoy the composition of my model on this image, as it is very unusual. The positioning of her head makes the detail on her neck more clear as you can now see it more.
This was my 4th shoot therefore I should be able to see improvements. This one was definitely an improvement from my first two shoots because it is in more depth. The makeup is alot more detailed in this shoot. I have used glitter and diamonds as well as face paint so that it looks more professional and artistic. The primary colour I used is blue, I focused everything around that one colour and therefore it is portraying an icy theme. My model looks like and ice princess/queen. Laura Ferreira’s inspired this photo shoot as she uses diamonds and glitter as well as face paint and make up. She always focuses on one colour but in some cases she does add a few with one being the boldest. Her images are very capturing and I tried out her technique because that’s how I want my images to be like. If I were to do this shoot again I would have used a white background because I think the black one looks out of place with the main colour being blue. Blue is quite a light, soft colour as so is white therefore the images would have looked better. The way I positioned my model is different to how I’ve positioned my model in previous shoots. In this shoot the composition is more appealing and therefore it makes the overall shoot more interesting. Even just tilting her head makes it look alot more capturing. The next time I do a shoot focused around Laura Ferreira’s work I will develop the makeup more just like her work.
