Project 6

I decided to take a different approach to my personal investigation with this particular shoot. This is because I have came to a stage were I am not really enjoying my chosen project. I think focusing on make up requires alot of time and you have to be very neat and patient to produce something that is A material. Therefore I wanted to try something new, to see if any ideas came from it. In this photoshoot I have focused primarily on movement. By focusing on this I was able to play around more with the camera techniques. For this shoot I used a slow shutter speed so that I could capture every movement that my model made. Straight away I enjoyed this shoot alot more than i did with my previous shoots. Therefore I have decided to base the rest of my project around slow shutter speed photographs. I think I will be able to expand my ideas and experiment more with the final images. They are also alot more interesting already, which tells me I have made the right decision. I will be photographing mainly humans so that all of my project is linked together, as my other shoots are all portrait. With these images I will be able to include more than one person which in my opinion will make the shoots more intersting and they will very more. I will also be able to incorporate coloured gels so that each photoshoot is showing different colours.

Image Analysis
This image is made up of two different images. I put these pictures together as one whole image because I think they work well together. To get this outcome I foused mainly on the movement of my subjects arms. I got her to turn her back to me and move her arms and heads only. I think this looks asthetically pleasing because it makes you really focus on the image to see what is actually going on. This is an objective that I would like to achieve every time I do a shoot because I think it makes your photos more interesting which will attract a larger audience. The colours in these images give off a very warm atomosphere as the main colour used is red and this blends in with my models skin tone to make a orange colour. I specifically like the fact that you can only slightly see where my models arms have been because it creates an illusion to the overall photo and distorts my models features, which is the point of slow shutter speed photography.

Image Analysis
I think this image looks very blurred in certain areas, such as on the models back. It looks as if there is light bursting from an area on her back, which has caused that area to become blury. This is why I chose to show this image as one of my successful ones from this shoot, I think it makes it interesting. However I dont think the composition of the photo is as good as it could be. The only thing that catches my attention is the distorted section, and I think the full image should look good. My model is bent down so you cant really see the full shape of her body, you can only see her hand clearly which to me looks strange. The thing I dont like about this image is that it looks like my model has a bald patch from where she has moved her head quickly.

Image Analysis
My favourite aspect of this successful image is the fact that my model looks as if she has four faces. This is from where she has moved her head quickly. I aimed to get an effect where you could see the process my model has gone through to mover her head from one side to the other. I think this target has been met because the process of that particular movement is clearly evident. I enjoy how one part of her face is in focus and you can only see the others slightly. To me this looks as if her soul is jumping out of her body.
