7th Photoshoot

Unfortunately this shoot didnt go to plan, which is why there is only a few images. My plan for this was to make my model look like a mermaid. To do this I got a piece of net and then used the net as a stencil to create a ridgid pattern on her face. I used simple eyeshadows, mainly pastle colours such as; blue, green, purple and a little bit of pink. This was primarily because that is what colours I think are mainly associated with mermaids. I didnt want to cover my full models face because that wouldnt be realistic, therefore I chose certain areas and just painted in little shapes. I then travelled down her neck and painted some of her chest just so it blended in with her face. I dressed the model in a light pastle blue cami as that is the colour of the sea where mermaids live. Finally i added just a small amount of diamonds to her face and collar bones, I think this contrasted with the plain make up and make the shoot more portrait. I gathered some shells that I picked from the beach my self, to use in this photoshoot. I had my model hold some to her face and the positioned her where these props were interlinked. I also placed some in her hair. This shoot didnt go as planned because I had some technical difficulties with the lights. They were faulty at the time so i was unable to get a speecific light which was as effective as i wanted it to be. I still captured a few images to record the tecnique I had used on my models face. This shoot has give me inspiration to always have a back up pan as not everything works out the way you want it first time.

Image Analysis

This photograph is one of the most successful images from this shoot, however it is still not at the standard that I would have liked it to be.  You cant see the makeup in as much detail because the lightening is not correct. This is unfortunate because the detail on my models face is the main aspect of this full shoot. Despite this  do like the shadow that has been created by the spot light on the left side of my models face. I think it creates a suspense feeling, a feeling that is closely linked to these mystical creatures as they are known to be evil.
