9th Photoshoot

This was my second fashion photography shoot and I decided to do it in the studio so that it was different from my previous fashion photography shoot. Although I did enjoy doing this I think that the previous one was more successful. Due to the fact that the scenary fitted in better with the models outfit and the lighting was better so the overall images were at a higher standard. I chose to dress my model in a little black dress with a few diamonds on to make it slightly more glamorous, I also liked the back of this dress because it had alot of detail to it so I have taken a few images where my model is facing the back, so that the audiences attention is focused on that. I got my model to pose in positions that I would expect to see in fashion magazines, so to get some inspiration I looked on the internet.  I found alot of interesting poses which I then got my model to try, after we she has done all of them I created some myself. On the day of the shoot I had a few problems due to the back drop. I wanted a white background so it contrasted with my models black dress and it made the photos lighter. However, there was only one white board in the studio as the other was being used, so I had to include some of the wall as well as the white board so that my models full body would fit in. After I finished the shoot, I then had to go through all of the images and crop the ones that you could see the wall in. Overall, I did enjoy this shoot but I didnt see it going anywhere.

Image Analysis
This is one of the images I took where I have focused my attention on the detail on the back of the dress. By doing this I have made the photo more interesting to look at. The pose my model is doing is one of the ones I thought of, I think this pose is successful because you can see both the front and the back of my subject. I chose to turn the image to black and white so that it give off quite a dark atmosphere. My subjects facial expression definitely fits in with this mood because she just has a straight face. I think this facial expression is very common in fashion photography, I very rarely see images of models smiling, only if it fits in with the outfit that they are promoting. After I had changed this photo into black and white, I decided to edit the image and turn sections of it to a negative. To do this I drew circles on the parts of the image that I wanted to change and then basically just turned them to negatives. I then moved the circles so that different parts of my models body was in different places. I like this edit and I think that it would look especially good if it was a dark room print.
